Romania’s Recovery Plan: Investments for a Modern, Resilient Future

Investments in renewable energy and NZEB (Nearly Zero-Energy Building) infrastructure underscore the university’s strong commitment to becoming a benchmark for sustainability excellence. Our strategic approach focuses on deploying advanced energy solutions by 2027, including innovative photovoltaic and agro-voltaic systems, while upgrading the campus to meet the most stringent NZEB standards. Backed by three major projects funded through Romania’s National Recovery and Resilience Plan (PNRR), these efforts solidify our leadership in implementing sustainable development principles within academia.

SMART AGRIFOOD CAMPUS – Educational Excellence in the Bucharest-Ilfov Region

Focused on developing a complete dual education pathway, this project runs from November 4, 2023, to June 30, 2026, and is funded under Component 15 – Education of Romania’s National Recovery and Resilience Plan (PNRR), Pillar IV: Policies for the New Generation, Reform 4: Creating a Complete Professional Pathway for Higher Technical Education, Investment 6: Developing at least 10 regional consortia and equipping at least 10 integrated vocational campuses. The project aims to develop and pilot a full dual education pathway (ISCED 3-8) within the SMART AGRIFOOD CAMPUS Dual Education Consortium, enhancing access to innovation-driven, creative, and smart specialization-based education by improving vocational training in the dual system and ensuring investments in sustainable educational infrastructure and renewable energy.

GreenEdu – Green Dormitories for an Inclusive Academic Community!

Running from July 18, 2024, to September 30, 2025, this project is funded under Component 15 – Education of Romania’s PNRR, Pillar IV: Policies for the New Generation, Reform 6: Updating the legislative framework to ensure ecological design, construction, and equipment standards in pre-university education, Investment I7: Ensuring university infrastructure (dormitories, cafeterias, recreational spaces). The project seeks to enhance USAMVB’s campus resilience by improving access and inclusion for students from disadvantaged backgrounds through the modernization of sustainable and inclusive housing infrastructure, investing in renewable energy and energy-efficient renovations.

UNIVIS – University of the Future: Social Inclusion and Green Energy

Running from December 18, 2024, to September 30, 2025, this project is funded under Component 15 – Education of Romania’s PNRR, Pillar IV: Policies for the New Generation, Reform 6: Updating the legislative framework to ensure ecological design, construction, and equipment standards in pre-university education, Investment I7: Ensuring university infrastructure (dormitories, cafeterias, recreational spaces). The project aims to improve USAMVB’s campus resilience by providing modern, green, and inclusive housing infrastructure, increasing access and inclusion for students from disadvantaged backgrounds.
