Today, June 24, 2026, USAMV Bucharest received the visit of an official delegation from Shanghai, People’s Republic of China – one of the largest metropolises in the world, with 25 million inhabitants and 69 universities.
The delegation was led by Mr. Zhu Zhongming, Deputy Secretary of the Shanghai Municipal Committee. He was accompanied by Jiang Fan (Secretary of the Education and Health Committee), Feng Zhiyong (Director General of the Municipal Commission for Agriculture and Rural Affairs), Liu Guangyong (Deputy Director of the Foreign Affairs Office) and Li Zhimin (Deputy Director of the Research Department of the Municipal Committee). On behalf of the Embassy of the People’s Republic of China in Bucharest, Dr. Gai Hongbo (Counselor for Science and Technology) and Dr. Ma Yunfei (Secretary II) participated.
The guests were received by prof. Dr. Teodor Ioan Trașcă, Vice-Chancellor, together with the internationalization team – the vice-deans responsible for internationalization, who presented the faculties and held discussions on cooperation opportunities.
The meeting explored opportunities for collaboration within the Belt and Road Initiative, targeting mobility of teaching staff and students, joint training, partnership research, joint laboratories and transfer of scientific and technological results.
