Today, we had the honor of welcoming His Excellency Dr. Manoj Kumar Mohapatra, Ambassador of India to Romania and the Republic of Moldova, in the context of strengthening academic and research relations between Romania and India.
During the official meeting, His Excellency held discussions with Rector Prof. Sorin-Mihai Cîmpeanu, President of the Academy of Agricultural and Forestry Sciences Gheorghe Ionescu-Șișești, Prof. Florin Stănică, Vice-Rector Prof. Mario Codreanu, as well as with the internationalization team composed of the vice deans of the faculties of the University of Agronomic Sciences and Veterinary Medicine of Bucharest and the Director of the Department of International Relations and Mobility.
A major point of interest for His Excellency was the direct interaction with the university’s students. The meeting was attended by 24 Indian and Romanian students from all study cycles — bachelor’s, master’s, and doctoral levels — who had the opportunity to engage in an open dialogue with His Excellency about their academic experience, international mobility opportunities, and the prospects for educational cooperation between the two countries.
The discussions focused on opportunities for academic, educational, and research collaboration between Romania and India, the development of student and academic staff exchanges, as well as attracting Indian students to Romanian higher education institutions.
His Excellency expressed appreciation for the openness of the dialogue, the quality of the discussions, and the warm and constructive atmosphere in which the meeting took place, emphasizing the interest in developing long-term academic partnerships between higher education institutions in India and Romania.
