International visit from Yaşar University delegation in Izmir, Turkey

We were pleased to welcome, on November 11-12, 2025, the Yaşar Üniversitesi (Yaşar University) delegation from Izmir, Turkey, consisting of: Prof. Dr. Levent Kandiller, rector, Prof. Dr. Yigit Kazancoglu, Vice Chancellor for Research and Innovation, Prof. Dr. İsmail Türkan, Dean of the Faculty of Agricultural Sciences and Technologies

Our guests were officially received in the Senate Hall, where the compatibilities between the two universities were discussed and opportunities for collaboration in the fields of education and research were identified. Mr. Vice-Rector Prof. Dr. Florin Stanica signed the Collaboration Agreement (MoU) – an important step that strengthens the partnership between USAMV Bucharest and Yaşar University.

In the first part of the day, the delegation visited:
* Research Center for Studies of Food Quality and Agricultural Products,
* The university greenhouses, the orchard and the dendrological park,
* Dormitory A10,
* The university canteen,
* Center for Counseling and Career Guidance.

A working meeting followed with the vice-rector Prof. Dr. Gina Fintineru, where they discussed affiliation opportunities with international research bodies, collaborations with a view to submitting joint projects and participation in the International Conference Agriculture for life, life for agriculture, 2026 edition.

In the second part of the day, bilateral meetings were held between the Turkish delegation and the managements of the faculties in the fields of common interest.

The collaboration between USAMV Bucharest and Yaşar University is already active through a joint ERA-MIN 3 ERA-NET Cofund project “AI-CROPBREED – Empowering Sustainable Food Crop ”, AICROPBREED, project director CS III Dr. Eng. Chem. Violeta Ion, Research Center for Studies of Food Quality and Agricultural Products.

We extend our sincere appreciation to the delegation from Yaşar University for their visit and participation in the opening event. This meeting represents an important step forward in strengthening international cooperation in research and innovation.
