2025 General Assembly of the Senghor Chairs of Francophonie in the World

Under the auspices of the General Assembly of the Senghor Chairs of Francophonie, Babeș-Bolyai University organized the international colloquium: 🇫🇷 “From South to North, from East to West: Conflicts and Reconciliation in Francophone Spaces”. The event took place between October 27–29, 2025 at the Faculty of European Studies and the Faculty of Letters of UBB, bringing together representatives of Francophone universities from all over the world. On October 29, the General Assembly of the Senghor Chairs of the World took place, an essential moment for the exchange of ideas and the consolidation of the Francophone academic network.

🎓 USAMV Bucharest was represented by: Prof. Dr. Florin Stănică, Vice-Rector and Holder of the Senghor Chair of our university, Lecturer Dr. Carmen Man, Director of the Department of Modern Languages, Ms. Adina Someșan, Director of the Department of International Relations and Mobility.

🤝 USAMV Bucharest’s participation reflects the university’s ongoing commitment to promoting the values ​​of Francophonie, intercultural dialogue and international academic cooperation.

 

About the Senghor Chair

Named after the illustrious man of culture and first President of Senegal, Léopold Sédar Senghor (1906-2001), the network, composed of 30 chairs spread across five continents, carries out high-level scientific activities through which Francophonie is highlighted as an object of study and as a tool for international communication, as well as, in a broader sense, scientific activities carried out in the French language.
