🔹 USAMV Bucharest, strategic partner The University of Agronomic Sciences and Veterinary Medicine of Bucharest (USAMV Bucharest) is an institutional partner in the Erasmus+ KA2 project “Strengthening International Relations Offices in Moldovan HEIs for Further Integration into the EHEA” (IRO4ALL), officially launched on December 15–16, 2025, at the Technical University of Moldova (UTM), the coordinating institution.
Through its active participation in the project, USAMV Bucharest reaffirms its role in advancing the internationalization of higher education in the region, contributing consolidated expertise in university international relations, European project management, and alignment with EHEA standards.
📊 The project has a total budget of EUR 399,982 and spans 24 months (November 1, 2025 – October 31, 2027). It is coordinated by UTM under the leadership of Rector Prof. Dr. Viorel BOSTAN and Vice‑Rector for Finance and International Relations, Dr. Daniela POJAR, with operational coordination ensured by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nina PUȚUNTEAN.
The IRO4ALL consortium brings together 8 institutions from 4 countries. Alongside USAMV Bucharest, the Czech University of Life Sciences Prague (CZU) and the Polytechnic University of Valencia (UPV) serve as European pillars of expertise, partnering with several Moldovan universities to build a strong framework for best‑practice transfer, institutional mentoring and sustainable development.
🎯 USAMV Bucharest’s contribution
- Training IRO staff: developing training materials for International Relations Office (IRO) personnel
- Policies: designing institutional internationalization policies
- Cooperation: implementing functional models of European academic collaboration
- Approach: promoting inclusive, digital and green internationalization
The project’s overarching goal is to embed internationalization as a strategic, integrated process at institutional, operational and cultural levels in Moldovan universities. Expected outcomes include IRO staff trained to European standards, modernized institutional policies, advanced digital tools and concrete initiatives for international academic cooperation.
During the kick‑off meeting, the critical role of European partners from Romania, the Czech Republic and Spain was highlighted. The project structure is organized into six work packages covering capacity building, institutional internationalization, dissemination, quality assurance and project management. USAMV Bucharest’s presentation of Work Package 3 was delivered by Ms. Adina Someșan, Director of International Relations and Mobility, together with Lecturer Dr. Paul‑Alexandru Popescu, Erasmus+ Institutional Coordinator.
Foundational strategic documents, including the first‑year activity plan, were approved, reconfirming all partners’ firm commitment to rigorous and sustainable implementation.
IRO4ALL stands as a relevant example of genuine European cooperation, where USAMV Bucharest, CZU and UPV actively contribute to strengthening the institutional capacity of Moldovan universities and supporting their integration into the EHEA. Through expertise, durable partnerships and a shared vision, the universities involved show that successful internationalization starts with well‑prepared people and institutions open to collaboration.
